Awaiting for Enlistment

Life is boring... what I've done everyday is almost the same... Wake up in the morning, switch on my computer, brush my teeth, eat my breakfast, switch off my computer, go out, come back for dinner, turn on the computer again, chat, and switch off.

God! Don't you think life's without any thrill in that way? Yeah... This is my life of waiting for my enlistment. But well... it's acutally quite worth the wait. I could wake up really late everyday, slack, watch TV, do whatever I want to keep myself occupy, spotting buses and take pictures of buses, eating, etc etc etc...

Yeah! Cool, ain't it? Some people who are working now may be jealous with the way I live my life now. But hey, when I get enlisted, my whole life would be totally different! Physical training, lessons for various techniques to be learnt, artillery training, whatever! I would be occupied by these activities everyday. It would be a physical and mental torment (in certain ways)! However, it's about serving the nation, so .. ya.. don't really mind about it. Being patriotic with one's country can be pretty awesome.

So... if you're now awaiting for your enlistment, what are you doing now? And, if you are having this period of time to do whatever you want now, what would you like to do? Perhaps drop me short messages on my tagboard, or converse with me on MSN Messenger.

Hello peeps! OOPS... I have not been updating this little space of mine for quite some time becos... I'm lazy! :P Awaiting for army enlistment seems long enough, but well... what can I do? Juz.. wait for it then...

During this 'holiday' of mine, it seems to be one which is not so bored, and not so interesting...

Just a little round up of what I've been doing for last few weeks
1. Went cycling with my bus mates in East Coast Park. It was fun, but kinda sweaty. Thx Benjy's parents for the drinks, else a lot of us would be dehydrating...

2. With the same group of bus mates, we went to the Budget Terminal for their 'open house' visit. Indeed, the terminal is really 'budget' in the sense that when one boards the plane, there is no sheltered walkway linked from the check-in gates to the plane. Should there be rain that day, the passengers may be drenched. =S What's more, when arriving from the plane, one has to walk about 300 metres from the gates to the arrival halls in non air-conditioning walkway. Man... if there's rain, I think one may have to be drenched by bits. Haha!

3. I am feeling a little lazy in getting things done sometimes! Probably it's because it's 'holiday' for me, and hence I may be a little procrastinating to get things done.

My Hong Kong Trip

Weee Hooo! I went to Hong Kong from 2nd March to 5th March. It was quite a fun experience as this was my first visit to Hong Kong. However, due to the fact that my Cantonese sucks to the core, sometimes my Cantonese made those Hong Kongers to go 'huh? What are u trying to say?'...

2nd March 2006

0640 hour flight on United Airlines... Gosh it was darn early... My mind was still in dream land... haha. The plane took off at abt 7.07 am. It reached the airport at about 10.15 am. Yup... a 3 hour 8 mins flight. Upon reaching Hong Kong, the objects that caught my eyes were the... DENNIS TRIDENT! Yeah.. Dunno y but those Dennis Tridents in HK could really speed. They are used for Airport services, which bring passengers from the airport to major parts of Hong Kong.

Upon arrival at the hotel, I was being fantasized by the various buses, like say the Dennis Dragon, the Wright bodied Volvo Super Olympian, the Scania N113DRB, etc etc etc. My family and I were familiarising the environment around our hotel. It was a very typical environment that one sees on Hong Kong serial drama. That was so.. whoa.. nice!

After checking in the hotel at 1400 hours, we took a rest. Then, we took the MTR (MRT in our local term) to Wong Tai Sin. It is the most famous temple in Hong Kong. A lot of prayers go there to pray for their well-wishes.

After that, we took the MTR to Tsim Shai Tsui area, as we wanted to tour the Avenue of Stars. Very famous stars left their hand prints there.

After that, we went back to our hotel by taking a bus, and had dinner. After that, we went down for a walk and some shopping before going back.

3rd March 2006

2nd day in Hong Kong was the day when we had our half day tour. Went to Aberdeen to look at the diminishing culture of the fishing village. These groups of people are considered as the somewhat poor groups of people, and catch fishes for their livelihood.

Next, we went to the Peak. However, we only went to half of the mountain to look at how beautiful the scenery was. Truly enough, it was an exortic view from the top!

Then, we went to Repulse Bay to look at various gods that have been 'protected' the place. Kinda special as it wasn't a temple.

After that, we did some shopping in Tsim Sha Tsui. We had dinner in there before we went back to the hotel for a rest. After that, we took the MTR to Central, and boarded Service 15 to the Peak. The experience on Service 15 was exhilarating! Imagine a double deck bus climbing up the hill. It was fantastic!

4th March 2006

Fun day in Ocean Park! Went to look at various animals like pandas, sharks, fishes in the aquariums, etc. The next item was a fun and fantastic ride on the Whisker's Wild Ride. It is a 3D movie simulation. The motion provided from the seat was fantastic. Next, we took a cable car ride, whereby one could view the most beautiful scenery in Aberdeen area. It was awesome... Lunch followed after the ride on the cable car.

Mechanical rides were one of the 'must-play' items in Ocean Park. Did the Ferris Wheel, the Ocean Park Tower (where one can see the full view of the park by a few hundred metres above ground level), and also the Mine Train! The Mine Train was really thrilling. One could feel that he would fall off from the train when it was going down the track. Though thrilling, it was a scarry ride as well. :P

At night, dinner and shopping were done.

5th March 2006

Didn't do much activity... it was purely shopping in Kowloon area... We were going on the 2015h flight by UA from Hong Kong to Singapore. That ended the trip.

On the overall, it was a pretty fun and cool one. Hope to go back again.
